Answer #1

greenhouse effect is due to the absorption of infrared lights ( infrared light has longer wavelength ) by the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, greenhouses gases are CH4, N2O, CO2, and it re-emitted to the surface of the Earth which warms up the Earth's Atmosphere so the answer is c. greenhouse effect

View the graph on page 6 entitled “Separating Human and Natural Influences on Climate.” Study the line graph of observed average global temperatures from 1900 to 2000. Write two sentences interpreting the data displayed in this graph for “Natural Factors Only” compared to “Natural and Human Factors.” In the first sentence, summarize the temperature movement during this time period. In the second sentence, make a...

    1. The following questions are about climate change. Circle the right answer in the parentheses. (a) Most of the recent global warming is due to an enhanced greenhouse effect caused by increasing levels of greenhouse gases, such as (CO2, 02) (1 point) (b) (External, Internal) causes of climate change are those that alter the total amount of energy the climate system holds, whereas (external, internal) causes of climate change are those that redistribute energy within the climate system. Q3.27. Over long time scales the solubility-temperature feedback (below), can affect climate. An increase in atmospheric CO2 concentrations increases the greenhouse effect and causes temperatures to rise. As ocean temperatures rise, the solubility of CO2 decreases. As a result, CO2 is released from the oceans to the atmosphere, strengthening the greenhouse effect and causing temperatures to rise further. What type of feedback is this? Water Temperature CO2 Greenhouse Effect Solubility +CO A positive feedback that amplifies climate change A positive...

To meet the grand challenge of climate change and reduce the rate of warming of the atmosphere we must begin to remove major sources of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. One major greenhouse gas is methane. A major source of methane emissions are cows. There are approximately 1.4 billion cows (compare that to 7 billion people). Each cow emits approximately 120 kg/year of methane (CH4) Assume a cow’s stomach is 49 gallons in volume and the concentration in the stomach...
