Ionic compounds generally dissolves in water and dissociates into ions brcause of polarity. for example NaCl dissolves in water and gives Na+ and Cl- ions.

Nonpolar covalent compounds does not dissolve in water like oil and benzene.

So answer is it is an covalent nonpolar compound.
