There are Three specific Reasons to support an Information Governance Committee and Planning efforts, those are as stated below:

  • As, now there are many types of data and such data can be structured or non structured, many challenges may be involved within it, further, Information Management system may not be enough and Record management may not be the enough case, thus, we should support an Information Governance committee and planning efforts,
  • Again, there are data privacy, security requirements, thus, there could be situation like data disasters, and cost of violating such privacy statement could go high, thus, it is necessary to support governance committee and planning Efforts
  • We must treat Data as Asset, Not Liability, again, with the help of safe, secure and right amount of data, we can improve and optimize conditions of business and its parameters, thus, we need to support Information governance committee and planning Efforts

Yes, Health Informatics and Information Management already upholds the 8 key Information governance principles and therefore they should be a member of this committee, and such 8 Key Information Governance principles are Principle of Accountability, Principle of Transparency, Principle of Integrity, Principle of Protection, Principle of Compliance, Principle of availability, Principle of Retention, Principle of Disposition, further, we need health Informatics and Information Management as to combat various challenges like there are generation of too many data and data volume, variety goes high day by day, Use of Healthcare information is quite trending, again, we want safe and secure information Exchange operations, so, reliability could gain with data sharing, various medical devices creating lot more data, those need proper care and management, many electronic systems are in use across the organizations, which can be monitored using Health informatics and Information management system,
