Biodiversity plays a major role in many ecosystem services that nature provides.

1) The fast dwindling Amazon forest is estimated to produce around 20% of total oxygen in the earth's atmosphere.

2) Pollination is also an important service that helps in general functioning of ecosystem.   

A lot of plants pollinate through birds,insects etc. Hence provide the plants, an opportunity to produce the progeny.

3)Humans derive countless products from the plants abd animals which are used by them in their daily life.
