To make RNA copies of an genes that belongs to any organism. Thus the transcription mainly helps to synthesise the RNA in the lab condition or out of the cell. Major purpose of this transcription in the laboratory is to synthesis the labeled probe as well as synthesis of unlabelled RNAs.

This transcribed mRNA contain information for the polypeptide by translation. So the main purpose of the transcription is to get large number of RNA,  that helps to various studies in the laboratory in molecular biology as well as biochemistry
