Within our world of business, all races, sexual orientations, ages, ethnic background, national origins and genders have equal opportunities, and are inclusive. A variety of federal and state regulations, such as the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the Equal Pay Act, create standards for anti discrimination across the USA.

Employers are obligated not only to provide the same opportunities in recruiting and jobs, but also a workforce where minorities and protected classes have equality and justice. This involves written messages in a business. Employers should ensure respect for each other in all forums of communication between their managers and staff. Failure to comply with anti-discrimination legislation will result in civil suit and fines by the Commission for equal employment opportunities and state agencies enforcing such laws.

Be mindful of gender pronouns while writing emails, letters, memos, documents, ads, presentations, etc. Try avoiding them in general. Another example could be, "Be sure, that every doctor educates the nurse about it," a doctor can be of either gender. Alternatively, "we issued each employee his own laptop," seek, "we issued each employee a laptop." "To ensure doctors are training their respective nurses," instead. Use something like.

Landmines are simply overlooked words that historically bear a sexual connotation. Of example, the salesperson, sales representative or sales associate replaces the typical salesperson's title.
