China has very high power distance and hierarchy is expected to be respected in the society. US on the other hand has very low power distance and people across social strata / organization levels communicate more freely.
China is a highly collectivist society and people consider interest of larger group as important. Individual who grew up in US is expected to be far more individualistic and prioritizes self interest
