1. Resiliency is an important factor in how children develop and overcome many of the challenges of childhood and early adolescence. Discuss some of the protective factors that contribute to resiliency. Are these factors innate or environmental? Can protective factors be developed specifically to boost resiliency?

Most of the time resilient factors associated with the a child's environment such as the parenting, family, neighborhood, socio-economic status of the family and education. Children who have a supportive environment become very resilient because they would be encouraged and motivated to face failures, tolerate pain and pursue their goals amidst all the odd. Those children that do not have a favorable environment would struggle hard because when faced with challenges and failures people around them would only blame them. Of all the factors, parents play a very important role in supporting, nurturing and helping their children stay through difficult situations. These protective factors would boost resiliency only if it is accompanied by enough autonomy for the child to engage in activities.
