DDT is highly persistent chemical which is keeps on accumulating in the food chain and eventually in environmental soil/land system.. Where it goes into crops and enters the food chain again and again.

After multiple cyclic accumulations DDT concentrations reach to level which is toxic for birds,animals and human.
