Answer #1

Answer: The organisms called as blue green algae is placed in different kingdom called as Monera due to some additional features.

Explanation: Blue green algae is also known as cynobacteria. These organisms are considered as first organism to release the oxygen as they use solar energy , they have pigments and they use water as one of the raw material so they are considered as an organism for converting the reduced atmosphere in to oxidised form( as they use the oxygen and release oxygen as by product).

By this we can conclude that there are some extra features which is not found in normal class of bacteria(Eubacteria) as :

1.They have pigments which consists of Chlorophyll a ( which is membrane bound structure) it is special which make it unique.

2. They do not have flagella which is found in Eubacteria for locomotion.

3.They perform the process of photosynthesis(characteristics of membrane bound organisms)

4. Help in nitrogen fixation due to heterocyst formation.

5. Endosymbiosis that is presence of membrane bound structure inside the bigger bacterial cell is also specific feature which categorise this organism in separate kingdom.

While Ulothrix can reproduce sexually it can also reproduce asexually. One of the cells in a multicellular stage of the life cycle divides to produce free swimming cells called zoospores which germinate and grow into another multicellular body. 15a. Compared with a suspension of algae that is receiving white light, the algae exposed to artificial light from source 1 remains healthy but produces less oxygen and has a slower growth rate. The algae exposed to artificial light from source 2 stops to produce oxygen, and its growth is halted. Given your knowledge of chlorophylls, which of the following statements about the...

The business I am opening is Spirulina. Spirulina is a micro-algae and as such has been growing naturally in our environment for millions of years, it is a tough plant able to withstand harsh growing conditions, in fact, the micro-algae cell never really dies it goes dormant when weather conditions are not favorable, and as soon as these change and the environment is once again suitable for growth, spirulina begins growing and reproducing again. Naturally growing spirulina can be found...

An industrial psychologist is investigating the effects of work environment on employee attitudes. A group of 20 recently hired sales trainees were randomly assigned to one of four different “home rooms” – five trainees per room. Each room is identical except for wall color. The four colors used were green, blue, gray and red. The psychologist wants to know whether room color has an effect on attitude, and, if so, wants to compare the mean attitudes of the trainees assigned...
