Human Resource management is a term used to describe the development and management of the human beings in the organisation. The greatest asset of any business firm is their employees, so it is the duty of the organisation to keep their employees happy and well managed. If the employees would be happy in the organisation then, the productivity will definitely increase. Employees are directly proportional to the productivity. This can only be achieved when, the strategic planning is properly done by the HR department of the organisation.

There are certain key functions that are practiced by the department and are quite important for the organisation. This includes putting the right person into right place, according to their skills and expertise. This may include a process :

Selection: once the recruitment is done, then the next step is of selection which says that, the candidates who have applied for the job, are they best fir for it. By doing some tests and interviews the HR identifies the suitable candidate.

Hiring: is the process when the candidate is given the offer letter and the date of joining officially. He is the ideal candidate that the HR has selected for the particular job position.

Training and development: as the candidate is hired then, he is given training so that his skills and knowledge is brushed up and he becomes more effective and efficient in his area, to face the tough challenges coming ahead.

2. Performance management: it is important to management the performances of each employee. Performance management is important because every year the employer has to evaluate the performance of his employee.

3. Remuneration to employees and benefits: remuneration and salary has an important role in any employee's life. An employee works for salary and no one work for free. It motivates the employee, and makes him achieve the desired goals. Remuneration gives employee a sense of satisfaction, this may include salary as well as some fringe benefits and incentives.

4. Employee relations: there should be a sound working environment in the organisation, and the relation between the employees and organisation should be good. It is the HR who sees that there are no chances of conflicts between any employee. But many factors are there which could have a positive as well as negative impact on the employees, and they may not stick to the organisation.
