presentation on computers and stresses
i need data how computers create stress. how the are combined woth each other.
Computer stress is the stress caused by the use of and by direct result of computers.
This could mean:
• Getting tight shoulders whilst sat at the computer
• Fuzzy and unclear mind - not able to think clearly
• Getting angry at computer crashing or losing your data
• The inability to work out how to do something on your computer.
• Most of the population use computers everyday
Computers have become a way of life. There are few people who don't use computers nowadays.
You find them in all walks of life:
• In schools
• In libraries
• In cafes
• In trains
• In monasteries...
Communication is by computer, work is by computer and family life is by computer.
This means that because we are spending more time on the computers we are therefore more affected by the ups and downs that they cause us.
• Getting used to computers
For some of the older generation it is not so easy to get the hang of computers (some of my family and friends really struggle).
For the younger generation using computers is like walking or speaking. They know how to use them, breathe them and fix them. This is because they have used them from an early age.
For the older generation this is not the case. There is an expectation, oftentimes self-imposed, which says, "I should know how to do this!" This is because they see the ease with which a lot of people use computers.
This is stressful in itself but doesn't show the full picture that most of the younger generation have used computers since they were able to walk.
• Most people use computers as a source of income
This is another form of computer stress because this means that you have to sit in front of a computer all day whether you like it or not.
Most jobs require the use of computers nowadays so there is not much option of not using a computer.
Work can be stressful in itself so some of this stress is then placed upon computers.
Tips on Handling Computer Stress
1. Get comfortable - This is important. Remember most of us spend half our days in front of the computer. How you comfortable you are now is a reflection of how comfortable you are for most of your day.
2. Take regular breaks
3. Get outside - Breathe fresh air as often as possible. Take a ten minute break once an hour and go and breathe in the fresh air.
4. Up to date equipment - If your equipment is really slow or keeps crashing this can be very stressful. If things are slow, rather than getting annoyed, practice deep breathing. Breathe in for a count of four, hold your breath for a count of 4 and breathe out for a count of 4. Make the computers slowness work to your advantage. But try to update your computer if it is really old.
5. Back up your information - Try it if your computer crashes – you’ve got nothing to lose.
6. Learn the basics - If you don’t really know how to use a computer then enroll yourself in a computer course. Of course using a computer is going to be stressful if you don’t know what you are doing.
7. Cultivate patience and focus - Keep breathing deeply, have regular breaks and be kind to yourself – when it’s 3 am and you only went to look at a couple of emails turn the computer off. Computers are a great way to cultivate patience and focus. Set your intent of what you want to do before you turn the computer on. Do what your intention was first. And try not to get distracted. If you do, be kind and come back to what you were focusing on.

I need some help with this question. Describe a scenario for a healthcare visualization presentation. Include the following: Goal – keep it simple Audience – management, physicians, financial or other Data – what data is included? Does it include quantitative, qualitative values or both? How do you present the data visualization? What format/tool would you use?
