Answer #1

The modern animals in present are synapsids that are descendant from the group called Cyanodonts. Cyanodonts occured over a million years ago in Late permian period and are thought to be the ancestors of the modern mammals( synapsids.) Monotremes are the major group of mammal which comes under the group of living mammals. Now synapsids are connected directly since they include three groups and one of the group is monotremes. And since cyanodonts are the animal that are non synapsids considered to be the ancestor of synapsids as well indirectly for monotremes.
