Answer #1

No, I don’t believe that employers should have the right to monitor prospective and current employee's social media accounts as it would be an infringement on privacy. Employers have a right to expect only good productivity and performance from their current and future employees. What an employee does in his or personal time and space like social media must not be the employer’s business. It will lead to creation of unnecessary biases and conflicts of interest which cannot be easily removed. Also, a person has a right to develop and exhibit his personal identity socially. This must not to be tampered, monitored or interfered with as it would be unethical and in violation of an individual’s right to freedom of speech and freedom of expression.
