Answer #1

(a) since p-value of ENK is less than typical value of level of significance alpha=0.05, so we conclude that adminitsration of ENK alter the sensory threshold in mice

(b) here we use fisher LSD to find the pair-wise multiple comparison for significantly different from one another

LSD=t(alpha/2, error df)*sqrt(2*MSE/r)=t(0.05/2, 12)*SQRT(2*9.4/5)=2.179*1.939=4.225

so any difference greater than 4.225 will be signficant

ENK difference LSD Remarks
0-2 0.8 4.225 not significant
0-5 10.8 4.225 singifiant
0-20 5.6 4.225 singifiant
2--5 10 4.225 singifiant
2-20 6.4 4.225 singifiant
5-20 16.4 4.225 singifiant

    Please show work and explain. Thanks You have conducted an experiment looking at the impact of encephalin (ENK) on sensory thresholds in male mice. You decide to use a within subjects design rather than a between subjects design for a number of reasons: (1) based on your previous data, you know that sensory thresholds tend to be quite variable across mice; (2) using different mice for each dose will require at least 20 mice for n-5 per dose and these...

    You have done a market research study for a local restaurant by surveying 50 customers. You asked several Likert-type scaled questions, requesting level of agreement with a series of statements (where 1 = completely disagree and 7 = completely agree). These questions include: X1: I liked the food at the restaurant. (respond on a 1-7 scale) X2: I liked the service at the restaurant. (respond on a 1-7 scale). Your results are in the Excel spreadsheet “Customer Satisfaction Study Part...

    2. A dominant allele H reduces the number of body bristles that Drosophila flies have, giving rise to a “hairless” phenotype. In the homozygous condition, H is lethal. An independently assorting dominant allele S has no effect on bristle number except in the presence of H, in which case a single dose of S suppresses the hairless phenotype, thus restoring the "hairy" phenotype. However, S also is lethal in the homozygous (S/S) condition. What ratio of hairy to hairless flies...

    == Programming Assignment == For this assignment you will write a program that controls a set of rovers and sends them commands to navigate on the Martian surface where they take samples. Each rover performs several missions and each mission follows the same sequence: deploy, perform one or more moves and scans, then return to base and report the results. While on a mission each rover needs to remember the scan results, in the same order as they were taken,...

    It's a weak acid strong base titration Experiment 4: Identification of an unknown acid by titration Page 2 of 15 Background In this experiment, you will use both qualitative and quantitative properties to determine an unknown acid's identity and concentration. To do this analysis, you will perform a titration of your unknown acid sample-specifically a potentiometric titration where you use a pH meter and record pH values during the titration, combined with a visual titration using a color indi- cator...
