Some people have suggested changing the president's term to one seven-year term without the possibility of re-election. What do you think? How would that shift the incentives that currently face a first-term president?

Adopting a system of 7 year instead of current 4 years presidential term and restricting the presidential candidature to just one instead of existinf 2 , has many aspects which needs to be discussed.

Adopting a 7 year term will provide a much broader time for a president to implement ones ideas , policy and hence bring conclusive result. The current president policy of boosting American Nationalism, blocking avenues for other nationals at the cost of American, immigration policy etc need more time to reflect its effect due to global as wel as domestic dynamics. In this regard 7 year term will be beneficial.
Moreover, only one term presidentship will eliminate the populist measure taken by Prsident where they try to create an atmosphere of positive sntiments to get reelected. Sometimes such policies are not in the best inerest o nation but the President. by restricting Presidentia term to one will serve to eliminate this anomally.

However, extending a term to 7 year , will hamper the periodic check and balances on President. A 7 year term is long time and people needs more power to held president accountable and election is the most effective way. If a president turn despotic in between, citizens need to check that and elect a new one.

So before reaching a conclusion , a much deliberation on both aspect must be done as it has certain benefits but many challenges too.
