a) Given persistence length of DNA=50nm ,to calculate spring constant of DNA we have the formula

                                             k=Kbtp/2xb   (kbt=50nm)

                                                =50x50/2x3.4

                                                   = 2500/6.8=367.7

    b)Given radius= 5 nm

    bending energy=1/2xkL/R2

                                     =1/2x50x6800x5x5

                       =4.25x106mole
