what would happen if the orchardgrass seeds were unimbibed during exposure to cold temperatures? why? similarly, what would happen if the light-sensitive lettuce seeds were unimbibed and given a promotive light treatment ? why?

If the temperature is low and the seeds are unimbided the seeds will become dormant and instead of damage they can be stored for a long amount of time. When the seeds experience cold conditions the water inside the seeds starts forming crystals and damages the seed whereas if they are unimbibed they can remain dormant for a very long time.

If the light sensitive lettuce seeds were unimbided and were given a promotive light treatment they would start growing and from a dormant phase will come into vegetative phase as the conditions are favorable bu since water is not available they would not be able to grow. In conclusion , the seeds will not grow if promoting light treatment is provided and the seeds are unimbided.
