According to the information, the authors tried to generate a self-sufficient and self-renewable closed-synthetic circuit of hepato-protective capability which can be used to treat hepatic disorders such as fatty liver disease, drug-induced toxicity etc without the need to surgery. Here, a very intense methodology of developing this circuit has been devised. The authors utilize liver's own protective strategy i.e. activation of G-protein coupled receptors for bile-acid receptors i.e. TGR5 in the closed-circuit which will help in hepato-protection. This methodology has been well-tested in lab mice and shows very promising results. It actually seems that non-surgical and non-invasive treatments could be replaced with such promising strategies, but indeed require highly intensive clinical research.
