it is very much important to learn the right way of administering a drug for its effective action. proper storage of the drug (medicine), it's handling, the right time, the right dosage, and the right route play an important role in the treatment of a patient.

taking the example of a tablet, we should keep in mind some crucial points. sublingual and buccal medications are the two routes through which tablets are to be taken. these specific medications are needed when the body system needs it urgently. they are dissolved in the mouth or the buccal cavity and absorbed in the bloodstream as soon as we put them under our tongue. when these types of medications are suggested that means stomach does not absorb these drugs effectively and their effect would be decreased in the process of digestion. they are a boon in case of heart attacks.

these drugs are not metabolized in the digestive system, so the liver works upon it and that means you have to take a low dosage with the same result.
