Things to know about proper installing a eye medication

            * After explaining the procedure wash hands and don gloves on both hands

               to prevent spread of microorganisms.

           * Expose only the area of eye where medication need to be applied.

           * Tilt head of the patient backward and place index finger on the soft spot just below the

             lower lid.Gently pull down to form a pocket for administration of medication.

           * Apply medication from innner canthus to outer canthus of eye.

           * Amount of drop should be based on physicians order.

           * After appplication of medication close your eyes for absorption of medication.
