Think back to the beginning of HITT 1301 (Health Data Content and Structure). What were your expectations? Now that the semester is over, do you feel that your expectations were met? Answer: The health data content and structure is a course which main purpose is to make students familiar with profession of health information management and the basic concepts of health records. After studying this course many of the healthcare concepts has been clear, as for me it has established the knowledge and the information about the health data. Many particular words and their meaning has been easily understood after reading the chapters such as comorbidities which means a medical condition that coexists with the affects the patient's treatment and length of stay and the primary cause for hospitalization.

The concepts related to the health data content and structure has been clearly explained, all the health-related terms such as Medicare, Medicaid, EHR and other specific terms has been explained so that these terms could be more familiar during the practice. The benefit of this course is that it consists of set of common procedures or a common protocol that would benefit a specific community.
