1.)Community health need is a essential tool to inform commisioning and service planning and defined as a systematic method of identifying the unmet health and health care needs of population and making changes to meet those unmet needs . It is an excellent oppurtinityto involve stakeholders in service planning and increase the ownership and sustaiability. It may focus on specific diseases ,popolation groups ,procedures and inventions .

Need is assumed to exist when there is effective and the potential for health gain . The ability of benefit from health can be influenced by several factors including the epidemiology of the disease and effectiveness of inventions . Need should also be distinguished from demand and use .

Epidemiological approach consider the epidemiology of the condition ,current service provision and effectiveness and cost effectiveness of intervention and services .

2).Primary prevention :- It aims to prevent disease and injury before it ever occurs. This is done by preventing expenditure to hazards that cause injury altering unhealthy and unsafe behaviour that can lead to disease or injury and increases resistance to disease or injury . Example .a)Education about healthy and safe habits .

b)Immunization against infectious disease .

Secondry prevention :-It aims to reduce the impact of a disease or injury that has already occured . This is done by detecting and treating disease or injury as soon as possible or slow it progress.E.g .low dose aspirins and exercise to prevent further heart attack .

Tertiary prevention :- It aims to soften the impact of an ongoing illness or injury that has lasting effects . This is done by helping people manage long term ,complex health problem and injuries in order to improve theie quality of life and their life expentancy .E.g chronic disease mangment programmes ,groups that allow members to share strategies for living well .

3). Community -based organisation is a group of individual organised by and for a particular community of people based on shared interests and attributes . E.g Advisory neighbourhood commision ,transportation management association.

Support group :- Its member provides each other with various help ,usually non professional and non -material for a particular shared .e.g NAMI national alliance for mentally III,alcoholic anonymous .
