(7Sm 19.1AL 14.5L Clininelee o-35F L Acid/Base Titration SCH3U Procedure 1) Write down the number of your unknown solution!!!!6 2) Pipette Sml ofo.5 M bydrochloric acid into an Erlenmeyer flask. Add 2-3 drops of phenolphthalein indicator 3) Set up a retort stand, burette clamp, burette, and funnel. Rinse the burette with distilled water Then rinse it with sodium hydroxide 4) When you are done cleaning vour burette, fill the burette with the sodium hydroxide ('Make sure there are no air bubbles in the burette) 5) Titrate the sodium hydroxide into the Erlenmeeyer flask (O.5ml at a time) while swarling the contents. Continue this process until you reach the end point (vou should notice a color change) 6) Repeat steps 1, and 4 twice (for a total of three trials, and make sure that all three trials are within 0.2ml of each other) " Your second and third trial should be done more accurately, and make sure the Frlenmeyer flask is dry before doing other trials Make sure not to add the sodium hydroxide in too fast because you will miss the end point As soon as the complete solution changes color, stop the titration. Someone should always be swirling the solution as it is reacting Calculations a) Average the two closest burette readings. Average all three readings if they agree within about +0.2mL b) Calculate the concentration of sodium hydroxide. ke the average volume Find the molar mass of sodiutm hydroxide, and then calculate the mass of base in the volume used 4) Senor Cobtain the actual concentration from the teacher) Discussion Chemical equation for the neutralization reaction What was the concentration you obtained from calculations What was the actual concentration What was your percent enor Poswble sources of error (make sure these are based on your error)

just need help with questions 3. a & b always rate!!! Introduction Titration is a common analytical technique that is used to verify the concentrations of chemicals before they are sold as commercial products, in a process known as quality control. In this lab, you will be using a redox titration to find the concentration of the strong oxidizing agent hypochlorite (CIO) which is the active ingredient in bleach. Oxidizing and reducing agents are often determined using a redox titration....
