Obesity is one of the major concern at present era. Near about 70% of the population is suffering from obesity. Obesity is not a disease but it can be a reason for many diseases. Obesity causes various chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension etc. Due to increased weight it also cause pain in the lower extremities.

Obesity in the infants and child occurs due to improper eating habits of the mother. Incase of infants, due to abnormalities during pregnancy, a newborn can be overweight. This may lead to slower or decreased development of the organs of the infants. Eating disorders may be the other factor which influences the weight of the infants.

Obesity in children occurs due to increased intake of fast foods, caffeinated beverages etc. Now a days children doesn't indulge in the physical activities such as outdoo games, running etc. This is also one of the factor which causes obesity in children.

The effect of obesity includes poor self confidence, increased risk of disease development as they grow, liver problems etc. The high level of cholesterol lead increased risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes are the most common in the growing children. Overweight or obese children causes increased risk of hormonal imbalance. This imbalance creates further problem in the development of proper reproductive system, growth etc.
