Unit 3 In-Class Assignment: How Important Are People?

Instructions:

  • Examine your own potential to be a manager and to be a leader. What skills and traits do you possess that allow you to manage and to lead? Why would a business want to hire you? How will you be an asset to the company?
  • Consider Emotional Intelligence or EI. How would you rate your own EQ or Emotional Quotient? What is your most important EI strength? In which area do you need to improve?
  • Let’s assume you are hiring a potential manager for your business. Identify three skills or personality traits you would look for in the person you hire.
  • Using your own skills and abilities as a manager, identify two techniques you might use to motivate your employees to ensure organizational success

First of all the question here is how important are the people.

In an organisational point of view, people are very important in the form of employees and customers.

Now let's gather into the instructions.

1 - Examine your own potential to be a manager and to be a leader. What skills and traits do you possess that allow you to manage and to lead?

  • Patience makes a calm and gentle person.
  • Decision making is a key thing as a trait you need.
  • Talk first and vote your opinion.
  • Logical thinking to take the right choice.

2- Why would a business want to hire you

  • Because i can manage things calmly and i always consider each and every alternative before taking a final decision.
  • My major advantage is that handling pressure situation easily.

3- How will you be an asset to the company?

  • I can use various marketing strategies to grow the company.
  • I have the passion towards it and i will work hard and i can assure you that i will be not lesser than an asset.

4- Consider Emotional Intelligence or EI. How would you rate your own EQ or Emotional Quotient? What is your most important EI strength? In which area do you need to improve?

  • I would rate my EQ around 70 - 75
  • My EQ strength is 'I know how to calm myself down when I feel anxious or upset.'.
  • My EQ weakness is that i cant keep long-term goals and follow it regularly.

5- Let’s assume you are hiring a potential manager for your business. Identify three skills or personality traits you would look for in the person you hire.

  • Confidence
  • Anger control.
  • Team management.

6- Using your own skills and abilities as a manager, identify two techniques you might use to motivate your employees to ensure organizational success

  • Giving an inspirational speech on some success stories.
  • Giving better appraisals based on performance.
