Ear Instillation
1. Read the prescription and instructions for use
carefully.
2. Wash hands and ask the patient to sit with the affected ear
facing up.
3. Inspect the ear whether any discharge or bleeding. (If any
consult with physician)
4. Hold the medicine container and place the nozzle above the ear
canal.
5. Squeeze the container firmly to release the correct dose (number
of drops).
6. Ask the patient to remain the same position and gently rub the
skin for drug flow.
7. Wash hands and record medicine administration.
Handling a Sterile Syringe Needle Unit
1. Collect the needle unit from sterile pack according the
instructions given in the device label.
2. Assemble the Sterile Syringe Needle Unit as per the instructions
(check any safe combination available)
3. Check the intended use of the device (Blood collection or
Medicine administration).
4. Follow the procedure based on use such as Medicine
administration, arterial blood collection or venous blood
collection)
5. Prepare patient based on the intended use or indications for
use.
6. Check the volume of drug administration or volume of sample
collection.
7. Discard the needle unit into an approved sharps disposal
container after use.
