Loading and unloading a Tubex injector.
The Tubex injector contains the pre-filled medication that is used to administer in emergency conditions or immediately, a prefilled syringe contains medication and attached with the needle which is sterile, the pre-filled syringe is inserted into the holder which is made up of plastic now, later it was made up of stainless steel.
It saves the time of the nurses or the practitioner in an emergency situation, the medication that is mainly prescribed are morphine and various types of anti-infective or antibiotics.

How to load and unload Tubex injector.
Wash hands and wear gloves.
1. Get the pre-filled syringe with the medication provided.
2. Take carp- get or the holder.
3. Check the amount of drug in a well-lighted area.
4. Prepare it on a clean surface.
5. There are lock and unlock key at the top of the holder, open it first, after opening it will be unlocked.
6. Put the pre-filled medication syringe into the holder.
7. After insertion of syringe lock it and close it tightly.
8. The syringe is filled with half medication and the half air.
9. With the help of the plunger that is already attached with the holder, push the air outside after removing the cap of the syringe.
10. Now inject the medication according to the prescription.
11. Do not recap the needle.
12. Hold the injector by facing the needle downwards, and put the syringe into the container by unlocking it and take the Carpu- ject.
13. Clean the Carp- - get with the alcohol and place it back.
14. Discard the glove and wash hands.

Procedure for mixing the drug is.
1.collect all the equipment on a clean surface.
2. Take the vial of two medication and clean the top of the vial with the help of alcohol swabs.
3. Take the syringe and draw the amount of drug which is prescribed.
4. Dilute the medication if it is in powder form.
5. Fill the air into the syringe by pushing the plunger against the gravity and fill the syringe with the desired dose of one medication.
6. Remove any air and check the desired amount.
5. Now take the same syringe and the hehe second vial, take the vial in an inverted position and insert the needle of the same syringe into the vial of a second medication.
6. Take the desired dose of the medication from the second vial and fill the syringe, do not push the air into the second vial as you may draw more or less medication.

Reconstituting a powder medication.
There are various drugs which are available in powdered form, and before administering to the patient there is a need to dilute the medication, a medication which is available in powdered form are antibiotics, antihistamines etc.
Procedure.
1. Collect the equipment on a clean surface.
2. Wash hands and wear clean gloves to prevent cross-contamination and needle stick injury.
3. Take the powdered medication prescribed and the diluent such as normal saline or sterile water or any liquid according to the prescription, and syringe.
4. Clean the top of the vial with the help of an alcohol swab.
5. Read the instructions and check the concentration of the medication.
6. Read the level carefully that how much diluent is needed to obtain the desired strength, for eg: to obtain 10 ml solution we need to add 9.6 ml of diluent that will be 300 mg/ ml.
7. Fill the air into the syringe after removing the cap of the needle and insert the syringe needle into the diluent, take the desired amount of diluent into the syringe.
8. Add the diluent with the help of the syringe into the vial contains powder.
9. Do not remove the syringe if can be mixed without vigorous shaking, if it requires a vigorous shaking then remove the needle and shake well.
10. Take another needle and attached to the syringe.
11. Fill the desired amount of air for eg: 2 ml air.
12. Insert the syringe into the medication vial.
13. Draw the medication and recap it carefully.
14. Administer the drug according to the prescription.
15. Discard the used material to the respective bins.
16. Wash hands.
