Discuss Hegel’s notion of the Absolute. Describe the dialectic process by which Hegel felt the Absolute was approximated.
Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel was born in Stuttgart, Germany in the year 1770. He studied Greek and Roman languages from the University of Tubingen. Like Spinoza, Hegel identifies the universe as an intellectual entity that is collectively known as the Absolute.
According to Hegel, the true understanding is the core of knowledge that reflects the concept of the Absolute. True knowledge can never be judged by examining isolated features of anything that are related to the whole identification. Hegel postulated knowledge was to recognize the sensory information that can determine the general concepts. Once these concepts are visualized, then the next level is to determine how those concepts interrelated to each other.
Hegel believed that human history and the human rights are evolved towards the direction of the Absolute by the phenomenon of dialectic process. It refers to reach at the truth by attempting back and forth argumentation among the views of conflicting individuals. According to Hegel, the categories emerged as a result of the dialectic process that brings humans closer to the Absolute. By the actions of dialectic process, all things get closer including the human mind towards the Absolute.
