Proper food plays a vital role in the growth and development of an animal. Some foods can support the growth, where as some have an ability to inhibit the growth.
Take two glass pots. In each glass pots put a small fish. Both the fishes should be of same species and should have same size. Feed the fish in glass pot 1 with the protein rich fish food available in the market. Feed the fish in glass pot 2 with small granules of rice dough.
Observe the difference in the lengths of both the fishes, after two weeks note down the observations. It is observed that fish in the pot 1 has grown longer and healthier than fish in pot 2. This happens mainly because of the differences in their food. Fish in pot 1 was given protein rich food that supports growth. The fish in pot 2 was given a carbohydrate rich food. Such food is not a very good growth enhancer.
