Hypothesis refers to the scientific explanation given to a set of observations of an event. Hypothesis should be able to testify itself and must hold true for scientific principles.
For instance, if at a party many people got ill after eating a particular type of food, scientists may put forth various hypotheses based on their initial observations. Three possible ways in which a hypothesis may arise in such situation are.
• Food may be spoiled, hence resulted in food poisoning.
• Food may be adulterated with adulterants, thus causing the food intoxication.
• Food might not have been hygienically prepared, hence caused the food toxicities.
