Definition - is a disease condition in which their is an increase in endolymph in the inner ear, causing severe vertigo
#. The three triad of symptoms in Meniere's are :-
paroxysmal whirling vertigo
sensorineural hearing loss
tinnitus
sensation of aural pressure
#. Pathophysiology :-
abnormal ear fluid balance caused by malabsorption in endolymphatic sac or blockage in endolymphatic duct; endolymphatic hydrops, dilation of endo space, develops & either increases pressure of ruptures inner ear membrane.
#. Impact of antihistamines on patients with Meniere's disease :-
Antihistamines, such as meclizine or dimenhydrinate, may help reduce vertigo symptoms and associated nausea by blocking the effects of histamine.
