21.1)Pelvic inflammatory disease simply refers to the infection in the female reproductive system which leads to inflammatory process in the reproductive organ causing pain and associated symptoms
21.2) The infection occurs mainly due to the invasion of bacteria in the birth canal and at the cervical area.This overtime progresses to the uterus ,fallopian tubes and finally the ovaries.This cause pain and discharge mainly. The immune system respond by elevating the body temperature and other symptoms are simultaneously occurring.

21.4)The antibiotics extend from seven to fourteen days depending upon the severity of the infection. It generally kills the microorganism and prevents infection.
