1.Hepatitis is the infection or inflammation of Liver. There are 5 types of Hepatitis A, B , C , D and E. This is actually a serious illness that leads to death of the person.

Hepatitis A Hepatitis B
Hepatitis A would be present in the fecas of the infected person. Hepatitis B would be present in the blood of an infected person.
This can be transmitted through consumption of food and water with contaminated fecas, sexual contact This can be transmitted through exposure of infected blood, semen and body fluids, sexual contact, needle stick injuries.
Incubation period of Hepatitis A is most often 15 to 45 days. Incubation period of Hepatitis B is mostly 60 to 180 days.
Treatment is through preventive measures and self care.Adequate hydration to be maintained avoid alcohol and proper rest. Treatment depends on the condition of the patient , Anti viral drugs can be prescribed.Avoiding alcohol and taking personal care.
Complications like acute renal failure, Gullian Barre Syndrome, Systemic lupus erythematosus,arthritis can be seen. Complications can be cirrhosis of Liver and liver cancer which leads to death.

2. 3 key points of cystic fibrosis.

  • Cystic fibrosis is a hereditary disorder of both lungs and digestive system where a thick mucus will be produced which obstructs lungs and pancreas.It almost affects school going children.
  • Because of excess mucus production the skin always tastes salty, poor weight gain, coughing along with sputum, wheezing sounds, greasy stools which are very bulky in amount, bronchitis pneumonia , osteoporosis are the common symptoms and complications found.
  • There is no cure for cystic fibrosis and only we can manage the symptoms of the disease.This is actually a life threatening disease obstructing the air flow and leads to the death.

3. BMI - BMI is the Body Mass Index. This is actually the volume which is calculated from the mass and height of a person.This measures the actual body fat of a person.

BMI = Weight in kgs/ Height in meters square.

4 Range of BMI.

  • Under weight is < 18.5
  • Normal weight is 18.6 to 24.9
  • Over weight is 25 to 29.9
  • Obesity is 30 to 40
