Therapeutic communication means the interaction which happens face to face for advancement of physical and psychological well-being of the patient. Nurses uses therapeutic communication to interact with patient.

Few Examples are:

1) patiently listening the patient

2) accepting the patient’s concerns and saying. Sometimes it is necessary to do so for gaining trust of the patient.

3)Seeking clarification from patient.

4)maintaining silence or using silence which will help patient as well nurse to think.

5) recognizing behavior.

6) observation.
