Since there are not enough American medical school graduates to fill the residencies of the smaller non-teaching hospitals, would not the employment of nurse practitioners, physician assistants, or young physicians starting practice be considered first, before recruiting foreign medical graduates?

It is must that the employment of nurse practitioners and physician assistants should be considered first before recruiting foreign medical graduate because especially in rural areas there are a limited number of doctors. So, if there will be a higher number of PA's (Physician assistants) or NP's ( Nurse Practitioners) working in that hospital or such place, then there won't be any loss of any kind because these two people work under the guidance of doctors. It is also believed that the quality depends on the facility that employs practitioners as well.

If there are a good number of nurse practitioners or physician assistants working in their local areas or their native areas then the patient dealing would be effective even if the doctors are less available there.

The healthcare organizations are always beneficial in their ability to meet the demands of consumers by giving employment to physicians from various backgrounds and from various areas because the educated foreign physicians are well qualified and capable of providing the services required to meet the needs of the patients.
