A person be deviant without breaking the law, for example by committing acts of informal deviance that are basically the violations of informal norms of the society in which an individual lives, as these norms that have not been codified into law. Some example of informal deviance include; picking one's nose, belching loudly in public, or standing unnecessarily close to a person next to us.
