Module 2"classroom assignment" Interviewing skills

Be prepared to conduct an interview of someone you choose. It can be a family member or a friend . Review "Techniques of Communication" in the textbook reading. Pay special attention to your nonverbal communication by being aware of how your unique patterns might affect the quality of the interview. For this assignment you can choose whatever topic you want, but just focus on those techniques of communication. Once you have completed the interview please write a one page (no specific format) write up of how your interview went and what techniques you were able to incorporate into your interview.

I conducted an interview with my friend who runs a boutique successfully. Before conducting an interview I prepared myself to use the most effective communication techniques during interviewing my friend. The unique pattern of elaborate questions will affect the interview. I preferred to Ask specific questions instead of general questions. I Preplanned the points to be covered in the interview session. I tried to complete the interview within the given time. Taking too much time and repeating the same point will spoil the interview.

While starting the interview, I have shaken the hand which gives confidence on her in answering. I dressed up well to have a good personal appearance. I concentrate more on body language and shows positive impressions. I asked the direct questions and nodded the head while she is answering which shows my active listening towards her words. I maintained eye contact throughout the interview and sit up straight. I tried to keep my minimum hand gestures while asking the questions. I prepared with my questions already so I didn't give break or silence in between the questions. My interviewee responded to my questions actively. Used various facial expressions according to the situations which make both of them be more involved on the interviewed and avoid getting boring. My nonverbal communication equally takes part along with the verbal communication and improves the quality of the interview. At last, I complete the interview by thanking her for the spending of her valuable time.
