Answer #1

1)Ether amount:

Here ether is used as a solvent. There is no limit of ether quantity it's depends on solublity of our product. It is a liquid liquid extraction nearly 4 to 5 times of ether used.

Example: if a product is solid,take10 gr solid it's soluble in eather 40 gr, so we use 40 gr eather

2) Brine amount:

Here brine (Nacl solution) washing is used to remove undissolved salts in ether organic layer. There is no limit of brine quantity, approximately half quantity to the ether organic layer.

3) Sodiumsulfate amount:

Here sodiumsulfate used as a drying agent.when Na2So4 is react with water it forms Na2So4 10H2O,(Deca hydrate).

It can remove water traces from ether organic layer. Approximately 10 percent to the ether organic layer.

Example: If our organic layer is 100 gr , you can use 10 gr of Sodiumsulfate.

Thank you
