. Surgical mesh vs. Teflon sheet:
Surgical mesh:-
- Surgical mesh is a loosely woven sheet which is commonly used as support for organs and other tissues during surgery and is made from both inorganic and biological materials.
- It is mostly used in Hernia Repair and also used in pelvic or vaginal reconstructive work.
- It is of two types ; permanent mesh and temporary mesh. Permanent mesh remains in the body but temporary mesh dissolve over time.
Teflon sheet :-
- It is made of Polytetrafluoroethylene and is a non sticky covering sheet.
- It is commonly used as a graft material in surgical interventions.
- It is frequently used as a coating on Catheters to inhibit bacteria and infections.
Two 2.0-cm-diameter electrodes with a 0.10-mm-thick sheet of Teflon between them are attached to a 9.0 V battery. Without disconnecting the battery, the Teflon is removed. What is the potential difference before the Teflon is removed? What is the electric field before the Teflon is removed? (in V/m) What is the potential difference after the Teflon is removed? What are the electric field after the Teflon is removed?
