Review the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. While all of the provisions are vital to professional nurses, discuss the provisions that are most important for nurse administrators to apply to their role as leaders within a healthcare organization.

ANA code of ethics is a statement that is vital for nurses profession which makes them to get respect and to give dignified care. The codes of ethics are updated regularly based on the health care structure and healthcare delivery. Currently, there are nine provisions in the code of ethics which clearly explains the boundaries, values, and fundamental duties of the nurses. It also provides guidance and support to nursing practice. On this nine provision, some provisions are most important for nurse administrators in order to play her role as nurse leaders. As a leader, provision 3 makes the nurse administrator has to promote the rights and safety of the patient within the healthcare organization.  Provision 4 makes the administrator identify her authority, the responsibility of her role and to work them accordingly. She is responsible to take actions and decisions for positive patient outcomes within the health care organization. According to provision 6, she has to promote professional growth and to provide a positive work environment for nurses in order to promote quality and safe health care. According to provision 7 the nurse administrator also responsible for the development of professional standards through research and nursing policies. Provision 9 makes her promote the professional nursing practice, nursing values, nursing integrity, nursing ethics and principles through nursing policies.
