Answer 13. Flax seeds are obtained from a plant called flax (Linum usitatissimum) or linseed. Flax is mostly cultivated for flaxseeds. However, it is also a fiber crop. Flaxseeds come in two different varieties, yellow and brown. These two varieties have similar nutrition.

Flaxseeds are enormously rich in fibers. There is a negligible amount of usable carbohydrate in the flaxseeds. The usable carbohydrate refers to the carbohydrate that is absorbed and metabolized.
