Organizational Control Mechanism tracks how well the organization is performing.
There are 3 basic types of organizational control mechanism are used in my health agency. They are
1) Output Control.
2) Behavioural Control.
3) Clan Control.
1) Output Control: It focuses on measurable results within the organizational. For example Number of patients visits, number of positive feedback received etc.
2) Behavioural Control: It focuses on controlling the action that ultimately lead to desirable results. In these various rules and procedures are used to standardize the behaviour. For example various quality control measures are implemented in health care centre to prevent infection such as proper hand washing, use of aseptic techniques for each and every procedures performing.
3) Clan Control:The word meaning of clan is family. Clan control refers to values and beliefs of an organization that operates more like a family than a company because an organization relies mostly on the trust of its employees. For this an open line of communication throughout the organization to communicate anyone in the organization. For example a higher authority must act as a mentor to help their employees with work as well as personal issues.
