It is a practice of integrating scientific evidences or science based interventions with community health services. EBPH aimed at overall improvement of population health.
Barriers to implement EBPH
1. Organizational barrier
There are many barriers in relation with organisation; among this an important barrier is Organizational culture. Most of the organisation have a tendency to go wiith on going plans and programmes. Implementing a new intervention( evidence based intervention) they need a change ( staffing, work load, training regarding the new intervention.). Lack of fund also one of the organisational barrier.
2. Personal barrier
Lack of communication skills to effectively communicate the new intervention or strategies to policy makers is one of the personal barrier. Lack of expertise and skills to develop new evidence based programme also a personal barrier.
Strategies to overcome these barriers
* Allocate resources and funding to implement EBPH
* Teach the importance of Evidence Based Practice in public health' to future nurses by teaching foundations EBP in diploma and graduate nursing programmes
* Organisations should start the educational programmes to promote and encourage Evidence Based Practices.
* Motivate the employees of health care organisation regarding EBP.
* Continuing Education facilities should be provided for the staffs.
