Answer #1

Stress is a must factor in our life. sometimes it acts as a motivator, but when it becomes chronic it will affect the immune system.

  • Chronic stress causes the production of the stress hormone cortisol at a greater level it may boost immunity. But in less quantity, it will increase immunity, but at a higher level, it leads to inflammation.
  • stress decreases lymphocyte counts thus decreases immunity, prone to infection.
  • chronic stress may lead to psychological conditions like depression and anxiety contributes to inflammation. sustained, high levels of inflammation point to an overworked, over-tired immune system results in a deprived immune function.

prolonged stress leads to diseases like arthritis, fibromyalgia, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriasis inflammatory bowel disease, gastritis, heart disease, diabetes mellitus etc

meditation and yoga can relieve stress and pressure on the immune system and thus reduces cortisol level and other toxins by increasing lymphatic circulation.
