According to me EHR ( electronic health record) is much more secure than the individuals. It maintains the security and privacy of the patients health information. Individuals open their mouth and sometimes doesn't maintain confidentiality but the electronic system only gets open when you know it's login ID . Health information in the electronic health record is locked up and to access that login ID is needed which makes it a much more better option than individuals.
The greatest threat to EHR is software hacking which will lead to breach of patients health information and use of these data outside the organisation for research and other purposes. There are many other problems or threats with EHR system like :-
- bad software support
- internet access problems
- sharing of login IDs etc.
