Answer #1

The diseases caused by water are known as water bone diseases. They are generally caused due consuming contaminated water or dirty water. Contaminated water causes many types of diarrheal diseases, including Cholera, and other serious illnesses such as Guinea worm disease, Typhoid, and Dysentery. Diseases related to water have resulted to the casualties of 3.4 million deaths each year.

Water borne diseases have various Impacts such as the pathogenic microorganisms, their toxic exudates, and other contaminants together, cause serious conditions such as cholera, diarrhea, typhoid, amebiasis, hepatitis, gastroenteritis, giardiasis, campylobacteriosis, scabies, and worm infections, to name a few.

Now, let us do some research on the disease of cholera. The cholera bacterium is usually found in water or food sources that have been contaminated by feces, from a person infected with cholera. Cholera is most likely to be found and spread in places with inadequate water treatment, poor sanitation, and inadequate hygiene.

Cholera is an infectious disease that causes severe watery diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration and even death if untreated. It is caused by eating food or drinking water contaminated with a bacterium called Vibrio cholerae.

The infected person gets the symptoms that generally appear after 2 – 3 days of exposure. There is a question that appears as to how long can an infected person carry cholera? Usually up to a few days after recovery, however, some people may carry it for several months. Since severe diarrhea may cause rapid dehydration, replacement of fluids is critical.

Cholera requires immediate treatment because this disease can cause death within hours. The immediate treatment to the infected person is rehydration, which means the goal is to replace lost fluids and electrolytes using a simple rehydration solution, oral rehydration salts. To infuse Intravenous fluids, Antibiotics, Zinc supplements.

People catch up this disease from drinking water or eating food that's contaminated with a type of bacteria called Vibrio cholerae. Cholera is mostly found in the tropics, in particular Asia, Africa, Latin America, India, and the Middle East. It's rare in the United States, but people can still get it.

Well, boiling water is a very effective way to disinfect the water and it will not only kill Vibrio cholerae, the bacteria that causes cholera, but it's a right way to make sure your water is free of any pathogen, any living organism that could cause infection or illness.

Areas affected by cholera epidemics, where cholera outbreaks were reported in several African countries notably in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, and Tanzania.

The cholera bacterium may also live in the environment in brackish rivers and coastal waters. Shellfish eaten raw have been a source of cholera, and a few persons in the U.S. have contracted cholera after eating raw or undercooked shellfish from the Gulf of Mexico.
