Answer #1

Answer: The largest obstacles to the ability of our society to provide needed levels of economic, social, physical and psychological support for our elderly population are:

  • Busy schedule of family members as most of the family members are emoloyed and unable to provide time to their elders.
  • Most of the people consider elders to be a burden as they become unable to earn.
  • Due to various diseases and disorders in the old age, elder people requires full time attention. Family members get irritated with their behaviours.
  • Due to low socioeconomic status, people are unable to provide quality of care or treatment to the patients.

These obstacles can be overcome by encouraging the family members to adjust their time to provide care to the elder population. Indulge the elder people to some kind of activities which provided them knowledge and make them busy. Community group of old age people can be formed so that they may not feel lonely.
