Most Americans rely on employers to provide health coverage (although some qualify for government-based coverage such as Medicaid and Medicare). More than 150 million people still receive employer-provided health coverage. Do you agree with the way the United States provides health coverage to its citizens? What are your views on a single-payer/government-run system that takes insurance companies out of the picture? Do you think that type of system is even possible to implement in the United States?

In March 2010, President Obama signed into law historic health care reform (referred to as the “Affordable Care Act/ACA” or “Obamacare”). The law has had its share of challenges but, eight years later, many Americans have come to rely on it. However, the ACA has been under attack under the Trump administration. Given that uncertainty, are we likely to see other companies look for alternative innovative ways to address the health care crisis?

In most developed countries around the world, there is some mechanism to provide universal health care. Is access to basic health care a right of every individual? Or should health care be treated like any commodity—available largely to those who can afford it?
