Answer #1

A sweatshop means a workplace that has socially unacceptable conditions at work place, and more usually than not, such conditions include very less payment per day or per hour. Most of the companies and brands use sweatshops. These are ranging from fast fashion brands (cheap shops for clothing) to designer brands. Brands can make a sizable revenue with using sweatshops as most of these are placed in third world nations such as Taiwan, Bangladesh, and Thailand in addition to china where the labor rights either aren't followed or don't exist which indicates that the labor can work for hours on end with no breaks resulting to quicker production of the goods and at a much lower price. Most of the production factories operate illegally in sheds, garages, or abandoned properties. The workers are not provided the health benefits, insurance, or holidays. Furthermore the factories encourage unsafe practices which retailers choose to ignore as according to them the profits are more significant instead of upholding human rights. By this way the companies are able to maintain a remarkable mark up on the wholesale price.
